Suspect in Custody After Shots Fired at Surrey Police Station

Investigators seek witness video following the tactical response at Surrey’s District 1 office.

  • Police said gunfire erupted near Gateway SkyTrain around 3:13 p.m. before additional shots were fired outside the Surrey Police Service District 1 station in Whalley.
  • Specialized teams from the Integrated Emergency Response Team and the Integrated Police Dog Service assisted Surrey officers in safely apprehending a suspect.
  • No injuries were reported, and the District 1 office was briefly closed as an explosives team examined a bag left inside and found no threat.
  • Road and sidewalk closures around King George Boulevard and 107 Avenue remained in place as the investigation continued into the evening.
