• Lawyer Rafael Arturo Vila was shot inside The Italian Coffee in Pichucalco on Tuesday night, after surviving armed attacks in 2022 and November 2023.
• The Chiapas State Prosecutor’s Office opened a homicide case and deployed a multidisciplinary team with state and municipal security forces.
• Security-camera footage shows a hat-wearing man greeting Vila with a handshake before firing and fleeing.
• Prosecutor Jorge Luis Llaven Abarca said the presumed lone gunman came from Teapa, Tabasco, returned there after the attack, and is being sought with support from Tabasco authorities and more than 250 agents.
