Suspect Charged in Double Homicide of Young Couple in Normandy

The 34-year-old man was placed in provisional detention after the bodies of two 20-year-olds were found buried in his garden.

The suspect, Antoine Madiou, was charged with murder on January 28, 2025, following the discovery of two bodies in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, Normandy.
The victims, Martin Delamare and Maëva Gazé, both 20 years old, were reported missing on January 22 and found deceased the following day.
Autopsy results revealed that Martin Delamare suffered a gunshot wound, cranial trauma, and severe facial injuries; Maëva Gazé's autopsy is pending.
The suspect was apprehended in the Pas-de-Calais region after a police chase ended in a car crash, during which he was found to be intoxicated.
Currently hospitalized due to injuries sustained during his arrest, the suspect has remained silent during initial judicial proceedings.
