Overview

• Jonathan Lecomte, a 39-year-old man missing since September 2023, was identified as the victim through forensic analysis by IRCGN.
• The suspect admitted to killing Lecomte during a night of heavy alcohol and drug use in September 2023, storing the body on his balcony for months before dismembering it.
• Parts of the victim’s body were discovered in the Canal de l’Orne in July 2024, while additional remains were buried in the garden of the suspect’s mother.
• Authorities recovered the full remains of the victim earlier this week, completing a year-and-a-half-long investigation.
• The suspect has been presented to judicial authorities, where his provisional detention is under review following his confession.
