Suspect Arrested for Unprovoked Attacks on Asian American Pacific Islander Community in Calabasas

Angel Sanchez Jr. is in custody after two assaults, one caught on video, with a possible racial motive being investigated.

Angel Sanchez Jr, 29, has been arrested in connection with two unprovoked attacks on members of the Asian American Pacific Islander community in Calabasas, California.
The first attack occurred at approximately 4:30 pm near the 26000 block of Agoura Road and Lost Springs Drive/ Cottonwood Grove Trail, with the victim being a juvenile.
The second attack, which was caught on video, happened at 4:49 pm on the 4000 block of Lost Springs Road, where Sanchez Jr. punched a 60-year-old grandfather pushing his infant grandchild in a stroller.
Both victims were not seriously injured, and the motive for the attacks is currently under investigation, with a possible racial motive being considered.
Sanchez Jr., a resident of Santa Barbara, was located in the city of Oxnard and booked at Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station for Assault with Force Likely to Produce Great Bodily Injury.
