Overview
- Anthony Priestley, 53, was found with severe stab injuries at his Aldrich Avenue home around 4:15am on 18 November and was pronounced dead at the scene.
- Alexander Neilson, 28, has been charged with murder and aggravated burglary, appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court on 21 November, and was remanded to appear at Warwick Crown Court on 25 November.
- Prosecutors alleged in court that the intruder asked for drugs and money, stabbed Mr Priestley in a doorway and bedroom, and left with cash, allegations that remain unproven.
- West Midlands Police say they are not looking for anyone else and urge anyone with information or relevant footage to call 101 quoting log 418 of 18 November.
- Mr Priestley’s family released a tribute through police, and specialist officers are supporting them during the ongoing investigation.
