Overview

  • Susan Sarandon will make her first UK theatre appearance this autumn in Tracy Letts’s Mary Page Marlowe, portraying the title character in a 70-year life mosaic.
  • Andrea Riseborough returns to London theatre to share the role and depict Mary Page Marlowe at a younger age in the play’s dual casting.
  • The UK premiere will be staged in-the-round at the Old Vic from September 23 to November 1, 2025.
  • Letts’s nonlinear drama follows an Ohio accountant and mother of two through pivotal moments across seven decades.
  • After directing this production, Warchus will step down in September 2026 and hand over the Old Vic’s artistic leadership to Rupert Goold.
