Survivors of Illinois Juvenile Centers File 107 New Federal Abuse Lawsuits, Total Tops 900

The filings underscore allegations of rape, forced masturbation and beatings by staff at juvenile facilities over two decades

  • On July 15, attorneys for survivors filed 107 new federal lawsuits against Illinois, bringing total claims to more than 900 from those abused in juvenile detention centers.
