An RMG Research poll shows 42% of federal government managers in the D.C. area intend to resist President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, while 44% plan to support it.
Among Democratic federal managers, 73% expressed plans to resist Trump, with only 17% stating they would follow lawful orders they personally deemed bad policy.
In contrast, 89% of Republican managers indicated they would support Trump’s administration, with 52% pledging strong support.
The survey also highlighted differing priorities between federal employees and the general public, with bureaucrats naming issues like climate change and cybersecurity, while most Americans focused on the economy and immigration.
The findings underscore ongoing concerns about internal opposition within the federal government, often referred to as the 'deep state,' as Trump prepares to take office for a second term.
