Overview

  • On June 29, Theodore Michael Tundidor allegedly robbed a retail store in St. Augustine before dragging a female employee toward his pickup truck in a broad-daylight abduction attempt.
  • The victim’s screams and struggle drew the attention of a nearby witness, who intervened and called 911, prompting the suspect to abandon the kidnapping.
  • Florida Fish and Wildlife officers later spotted Tundidor driving recklessly about 10 miles south of the scene and arrested him after pulling over the stolen vehicle.
  • Tundidor is charged with kidnapping, robbery, grand theft auto, driving under the influence and fleeing and eluding law enforcement.
  • Authorities unveiled the surveillance footage this week to underscore the Women Against Violent Encounters program and reinforce public awareness of threat recognition and self-defense tactics.
