Surrey Rolls Out £200–£300 Supermarket E‑Vouchers as Councils Vary Household Support Fund Aid

The DWP-funded programme is locally run, with Surrey issuing limited e‑vouchers on a rolling basis through March 2026.

Overview

  • Surrey’s Everyday Essentials scheme is live now, offering one e‑voucher per household worth £200 for single adults or £300 for households with children, with the next monthly release due on December 2 at 10am.
  • Eligibility in Surrey requires residency, age 18 or over, annual household income under £27,007.50 before tax, and average savings of £2,000 or less over 90 days.
  • Vouchers can be used at major supermarkets including Aldi, Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Iceland, Farmfoods, The Food Warehouse and Waitrose, though retailer rules restrict items such as alcohol, gift cards, lottery purchases and some petrol or online transactions.
  • HSF support does not require recipients to be on benefits and any payment will not affect existing benefits, with councils determining how to apply, who qualifies and what form the help takes.
  • Other councils are running different schemes, including £100 payments in York, £150–£200 awards in Portsmouth, up to £300 for families in Doncaster, and £70 supermarket vouchers for eligible pensioners in Wakefield issued in early November.
