• Lifeguards pulled the man from the water after he was found unresponsive in the sea at Gwithian Beach, Hayle.
• Emergency responders from HM Coastguard, an air ambulance, police and ambulance crews attended the incident.
• Devon and Cornwall Police were notified at about 5:30pm on Wednesday, 24 September.
• The 63-year-old, described by police as being from Scotland, had been surfing before he was recovered.
• Despite resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
