Surat BJP Leader Dipika Patel Dies by Suicide at 34

The women's wing leader had expressed stress to a colleague hours before being found dead at her home; police continue their investigation.

Dipika Patel, president of BJP's Mahila Morcha in Surat's Ward No. 30, was found hanging in her bedroom on Sunday afternoon.
She had called Ward 30 corporator Chirag Solanki, whom she considered a brother, hours before her death, stating she was under stress and might not live.
Her three teenage children were at home at the time, while her husband, a farmer, was away; no suicide note was found at the scene.
Police have ruled the cause of death as hanging and are analyzing her phone and call records for further insight into her mental state.
Family members and police have stated there is no suspicion of abetment or blackmail, and investigations are ongoing to determine the reasons behind her actions.
