- Vodafone Idea filed a Sept. 8 petition seeking to quash additional AGR demands and to have dues up to FY16-17 comprehensively reconciled under Feb. 3, 2020 deduction verification guidelines.
- The company disputes about Rs 9,450 crore in fresh claims, including a new Rs 2,774 crore demand for FY18-19 and revised figures for FY17 and FY19.
- The hearing comes after earlier Supreme Court orders that upheld a broad AGR definition and allowed a 10-year payment schedule while rejecting reassessments.
- The Ministry of State for Telecom has said the Department of Telecommunications is not contemplating AGR relief for Vodafone Idea.
