Overview
- On June 4, Ethan Davis pleaded guilty in NSW District Court to six offences, including kidnapping, intimidation, threatening to distribute an intimate image, using an offensive weapon and possessing MDMA
- Court documents detail that in September 2023 he abducted his ex-girlfriend at knifepoint, wore latex gloves and brandished a Leatherman multi-tool during a 35- to 40-minute drive to force her to delete messages
- Prior to the abduction he bombarded her with more than 200 calls and messages across phone, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, TikTok and FaceTime, even sending a $0.01 bank transfer demanding she answer
- The Crown unsuccessfully sought to remand Davis in custody, but District Court Judge Stephen Hanley continued his bail under strict conditions, noting his clean record and participation in a behavioural change program
- Davis is due to return to court for sentencing on August 29, 2025
