‘Superboys of Malegaon’ Earns Standing Ovation at TIFF

The heartfelt film about small-town filmmakers in India received an emotional response and is set for further screenings and a theatrical release.

Directed by Reema Kagti, 'Superboys of Malegaon' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to a standing ovation.
The film is inspired by the real-life story of Nasir Shaikh and his group of amateur filmmakers from Malegaon, Maharashtra.
Adarsh Gourav stars as Nasir, with a supporting cast including Shashank Arora and Vineet Kumar Singh.
The film will next be screened at the BFI London Film Festival in October, with a theatrical release planned for January 2025.
Produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby, the film will also be available for streaming on Prime Video following its theatrical run.
