Overview
- Nintendo confirmed that Donkey Kong Bananza is developed by Nintendo EPD Tokyo, the studio behind 2017’s Super Mario Odyssey.
- The game launches exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17 as the first fully 3D Donkey Kong platformer since Donkey Kong 64 in 1999.
- Terrain-deforming mechanics enable Donkey Kong to punch, dig and reshape environments to uncover hidden treasures and Banandium Gems.
- Temporary Bananza transformations—including Kong, Zebra and Ostrich—grant distinct combat and traversal powers that can be upgraded over time.
- A local co-op mode allows a second player to control a younger Pauline with motion or mouse input to sing, manipulate the world and unlock objectives.
