- Varun Aaron retired from representative cricket in January 2025 following Jharkhand’s Vijay Hazare Trophy exit and featured in nine Tests and nine ODIs for India between 2011 and 2015.
- Aaron took 44 wickets in 52 IPL matches and has served as both an MRF Pace Foundation consultant and a TV pundit since hanging up his boots.
- He succeeds James Franklin—who coached the SRH fast bowlers in 2024–25—and follows Dale Steyn in the role over the past three seasons.
