Sunrise New Energy Plans 1GW U.S. Battery-Pack Project as It Scales Graphite Capacity and Turns Profitable

Lower costs from in-house graphitization position the company for expansion.

  • Sunrise said it will develop a 1GW lithium battery pack project in the United States through new subsidiary Alchemistica Incorporated, targeting residential and commercial energy storage demand.
  • The company reported a return to profitability in July–August 2025 with a combined net profit exceeding USD 0.57 million on sales of about USD 9.9 million.
  • Construction began in September on a 20,000-ton high-end graphite anode production line in Anlong County, Guizhou Province.
  • Sunrise received a National Science and Technology Development Fund grant of roughly RMB 4.3 million (USD 0.59 million) to support advanced graphite and carbon materials R&D and regional industrial upgrading.
  • A report cited by the company places Sunrise among the top eleven global suppliers of artificial graphite anode materials, supported by 97 patent filings, 39 grants, a fully self-operated graphitization process, and a 50,000-ton JV plant powered by low-cost renewable electricity.
