Overview
- Lewis Macleod, 36, of Hadleigh Road in Sunderland, was charged with manslaughter at Inner London Crown Court on Monday.
- Police say the charge stems from a 2:55am disturbance in Southwark on September 13 in which Michael John Edwards, 43, suffered serious head injuries.
- Edwards, from Nuneaton in Warwickshire, died in hospital on September 17, and his family are being supported by specialist officers.
- Macleod had previously been charged with causing grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm and was remanded at Croydon Magistrates' Court.
- A trial at Inner London Crown Court is scheduled to begin on April 13, 2026.
