Sunderland Girl's Message in a Bottle Reaches Sweden

Grace Liddle's bottle, cast into the sea nearly a year ago, was discovered on a Swedish island, delighting her family.

Grace Liddle, 12, from Sunderland, was thrilled to learn her message in a bottle had washed ashore in Sweden.
Grace and her brother Harry, 6, sent bottles with their contact information into the sea from Roker Pier in August 2023.
Harry's bottle was found in Denmark earlier this year, while Grace's was recently discovered on Pinno Island, Sweden.
Freddy Stahlberg, a retired professor, found Grace's bottle and contacted her mother through Facebook after deciphering the message.
The family is considering a visit to the discovery sites and may throw more bottles into the Atlantic for future adventures.
