Sunderland Council Grants Permanent Status to STACK Seaburn With Expansion Plans

  • Sunderland City Council’s Planning and Highway Committee granted STACK Seaburn indefinite permission to remain on the seafront, replacing its temporary licence set to expire in 2027.
  • The approval includes phase two expansion to introduce Sideshow, a carnival-themed competitive gaming concept featuring shuffleboard, darts, karaoke booths, bowling, beer pong and pool tables plus a first-floor function room.
  • Since opening in 2020, the container-based hub has welcomed more than three million visitors and draws about 50,000 guests each week to its street food outlets, bars and live events.
  • Danieli Holdings, operator of STACK, intends to start construction on the new Sideshow gaming area following council approval.
