Sundance 2025 Adds Documentaries Highlighting Justice and Truth

The Alabama Solution and The Stringer join the festival's lineup, exploring prison corruption and a decades-old photographic scandal.

The Sundance Film Festival has added two documentaries, The Alabama Solution and The Stringer, to its 2025 Premieres section.
The Alabama Solution, directed by Andrew Jarecki and Charlotte Kaufman, investigates incarcerated men uncovering a cover-up in a deadly U.S. prison system.
The Stringer, from filmmaker Bao Nguyen, delves into a two-year investigation of the scandal behind one of the 20th century’s most iconic photographs.
Both directors are Sundance veterans, with Jarecki known for The Jinx and Nguyen for Be Water and The Greatest Night in Pop.
The festival runs January 23 to February 2, 2025, in Utah, with an online program available starting January 30.
