- McIntosh’s 3:55.37 in Austin is the second-fastest 400m freestyle ever, trailing only her 3:54.18 world record from June.
- She said it was her fastest in-season swim and her first race of the new campaign after relocating to the University of Texas to work with Bowman.
- She was under world-record pace for much of the race and won by more than 15 seconds, with Anna Peplowski second in 4:10.55.
- Expanding her event range, McIntosh clocked a personal-best 57.01 for third in the 100m butterfly and also raced the 100m backstroke and 100m breaststroke.
