Overview
- Through direct benefit transfer, 1,513 owners of fully destroyed houses received the first instalment of Rs 4 lakh each from a Rs 7 lakh package, and 3,401 with partial damage received Rs 1 lakh each.
- The relief covers residents across Mandi, Kullu and Bilaspur districts, with 781, 631 and 101 beneficiaries respectively among the fully damaged category.
- The government increased assistance for loss of belongings to Rs 1 lakh from Rs 70,000 and raised compensation for fully damaged houses to Rs 7 lakh, with Rs 1 lakh for partial damage.
- Twenty-seven mitigation projects worth Rs 72 crore are in progress in Mandi, five more worth Rs 18.84 crore have been approved, and proposals for seven additional projects are being prepared.
- The chief minister launched the Madhu Mandav beekeeping programme with financing, training and a Him-Era Mandav marketing brand, and he reiterated appeals for central funds and permission to rehabilitate families on forest land.
