Overview

• Rain began around 7 pm after a hot, humid day and was accompanied by thunder and lightning.
• TGDPS reported district highs of 120.5 mm at Atmakur, 115 mm at Devaruppula and 97.8 mm at Mothkur, while Hyderabad gauges logged 87.5 mm at Hayathnagar Defence Colony, 70.3 mm at Kapra and 61.5 mm at Cherlapally.
• Waterlogging slowed traffic to single-lane movement at Mettuguda, Moula Ali, SR Nagar, Panjagutta, Ameerpet and Secunderabad Cantonment, and many commuters sheltered under Metro structures.
• GHMC and HYDRAA teams were deployed to pump out water, and police from all three commissionerates managed traffic at key junctions.
• IMD Hyderabad forecast light to moderate rain with isolated heavy spells in the coming days, and heavy showers were also reported in Warangal, Maheshwaram and parts of Nalgonda.
