The 2025 Forester e-Boxer Hybrid and 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid feature improved efficiency, shared Toyota technology, and updated designs.

  • The 2025 Forester e-Boxer Hybrid is Subaru's first model to feature its next-generation hybrid powertrain, delivering 194 horsepower and up to 40% better fuel efficiency than its non-hybrid counterpart.
  • The 2026 Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid, also unveiled, uses the same hybrid system and includes a 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors.
  • Both models incorporate Toyota's hybrid technology alongside Subaru's proprietary Boxer engine, symmetrical all-wheel drive, and continuously variable transmission (CVT).
  • Key features include lithium-ion batteries, regenerative braking, multiple drive modes, and advanced safety systems such as Subaru's updated EyeSight driver assist technology.
  • The Forester e-Boxer Hybrid will launch in spring 2025, while the Crosstrek e-Boxer Hybrid is expected to arrive later in the year, with pricing details yet to be announced.
