- Subaru unveiled the WRX STI Sport♯ prototype in Tokyo, adding a six-speed manual for Japan’s VB-generation WRX.
- The prototype retains the turbocharged 2.4-litre boxer engine with no new performance figures announced.
- Early reporting indicates changes are largely cosmetic, including Cherry Red exterior accents, 19-inch wheels, gold Brembo brakes and adaptive dampers similar to Australia’s WRX tS Spec B.
- Subaru also displayed Japan-only STI Sport R-Black Limited II versions of the WRX S4 and Levorg in Sunrise Yellow with STI parts and Recaro seats.
