Overview

  • The 75,000-square-foot complex features LED volume stages integrating real-time engines, in-camera visual effects, volumetric capture and motion tracking into a unified pipeline.
  • Developed by Ulster University in partnership with Belfast Harbour and backed by Northern Ireland Screen, the project received £72 million ($96.5 million) through the Belfast Region City Deal and Levelling Up Fund.
  • Studio Ulster houses one of five CoSTAR Screen Labs under the UK-wide initiative, benefiting from £75.6 million in Arts and Humanities Research Council funding and £63 million in new industry investment.
  • The facility has already secured bookings from major streaming services as well as UK and US independent film projects, with details kept under wraps.
