Strong earthquake shakes Indonesia's Java island
- A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Yogyakarta province on Indonesia's island of Java, causing damage to buildings but no reports of casualties.
- The earthquake hit at a depth of 86 kilometers southwest of the city of Yogyakarta, damaging 15 houses, two schools, a health facility and government office.
- The temblor shook buildings in Yogyakarta as well as in Central Java and East Java provinces, causing panic and evacuations, though there was no tsunami danger.
