Chief People Officer Rob McIntosh apologized for the communication mistakes and stated that corrected notifications were sent to affected employees.
Despite the layoffs, Stripe plans to increase its workforce by 17% to reach 10,000 employees by the end of 2025, citing strong business performance.
This marks Stripe's latest round of layoffs following a 14% workforce reduction in 2022 and smaller cuts in 2023.
