Overview
- The BBC confirmed the launch show will air on Saturday 19 September at 7.25pm on BBC One and iPlayer and that the episode will be pre-recorded with live competitive shows starting the following weekend.
- For the first time, each celebrity and professional will learn their partner live in front of the studio audience through three specially choreographed group dance routines, a format shift from recent pre-recorded reveals.
- Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe will present the series, replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, while judges Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke will return.
- The 24th series introduces five new professional dancers — Aleksandra Isaeva, Cristian Priori, Lethabo Monametsi, Maddie Ingoldsby and Mark Karmalita — and a 15-celebrity line-up that includes Dani Dyer, Delta Goodrem, Lacey Turner and Shaun Wright-Phillips; last year’s champion Karen Carney will perform on the launch show.
- Producers are pitching the relaunch as a blend of continuity and spectacle, so viewers should watch how the new presenting trio performs, how the live partner-reveal plays in front of an audience, and whether the format change alters rehearsal logistics and viewer engagement.
