Overview

• Emergency services were called to Kensington near Sheil Road around 11:30am after a street-cleaning vehicle struck the shopfront and flipped onto its side.
• Two fire engines and a search-and-rescue team attended alongside police and paramedics as crews contained leaked fluids and assessed the building.
• The driver was out of the cab on arrival and was taken to hospital with injuries described as minor.
• Merseyside Police closed Kensington between Sheil Road and Holt Road for recovery, with reopening expected once the vehicle and debris are cleared.
• Liverpool City Council said the vehicle was one of its street cleansing trucks, and Arriva diverted services 8, 9, 10, 10A and 10B via alternate routes with delays expected.
