Overview
- Dispatchers received a 7 p.m. call from Stanley Mulvey, 67, who said he had stabbed his girlfriend, identified as 62-year-old Megan McShane, and wanted to kill himself.
- Responding officers found both individuals covered in blood on the kitchen floor of the Griffin Street home, with a large kitchen knife nearby, and Stratford EMS pronounced McShane dead at the scene.
- Police report Mulvey refused to move off McShane, was physically removed from the home, handcuffed, and repeatedly admitted to killing her.
- Mulvey was charged with murder and interfering with an officer, is being held on a $1 million bond, and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
- Authorities say Mulvey is a convicted felon previously arrested in May in a domestic-violence case in which McShane was the named victim.
