Overview

  • The series-ending episode, Chapter Eight: “The Rightside Up,” debuted Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT with a matched release across more than 500 North American theaters.
  • The finale runs about 2 hours and 5 minutes, concluding a five-season arc the Duffer brothers designed as a finite story.
  • Season 5 rolled out in two volumes, with Episodes 1–4 on Nov. 26 and Episodes 5–7 on Dec. 25 ahead of the feature-length closer.
  • Netflix has confirmed the animated Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 for 2026, set between Seasons 2 and 3 with a new voice cast.
  • A live-action spinoff is in development as a completely different story in a new location and decade; the Duffers say they will be heavily involved under their Paramount deal and have teased a small hint in the finale.
