Organizers had to manually record times for dozens of finishers after exceeding the supply of 720-time tokens available.
Event director Alison Canning highlighted the enduring popularity of running and the festive spirit fostered by the event.
Participants, including members of local running clubs, described the run as a joyful way to start Christmas with friends and community.
