Overview
- Ground stops and multi-hour delays were reported at JFK, Newark and LaGuardia as strong winds disrupted flights Thursday.
- MTA Bridges and Tunnels restricted vulnerable vehicles, with broad bans on the Verrazzano-Narrows and targeted limits on the Cross Bay, Marine Parkway and Throgs Neck crossings.
- Subway service saw widespread disruptions, including delays on the A, C, E, F, R and W lines, temporary B and Q suspensions, 1 trains skipping stops, and Uptown 2 and 5 trains bypassing Newkirk Avenue–Little Haiti for water removal.
- Utilities reported thousands without power, led by New Jersey outages from JCPL and PSE&G, with additional losses for PSEG LI, Con Edison and Orange and Rockland in New York.
