Storm Forces Sid Sriram Concert Cancellation at Yuva Dasara
Organisers moved shows earlier, repaired damaged stage gear, rescheduled Sid Sriram for Oct. 18 at 5 pm to protect crowds.
Overview
- Following Thursday's torrential downpour, organisers cancelled Sid Sriram’s scheduled concert after strong winds tilted speaker towers, collapsed a Jimmy camera and damaged an LED screen.
- Police guided a hurried dispersal, used ambulances and patrol vehicles to help vulnerable attendees, and the large exit caused congestion at the venue gates and nearby roads.
- Officials inspected lighting, speaker systems and fuse boards early on Friday and reported no electrical short circuits, allowing organisers to press ahead with repaired setups.
- To reduce risk from evening storms, the Yuva Dasara team advanced showtimes to 4:30 pm, renamed the programme 'Sandalwood Evening' and ran rain-modified performances on Day 4.
- Sid Sriram is now scheduled to perform at the Uttanahalli Grounds on Oct. 18 at 5 pm, with organisers continuing to monitor weather forecasts and manage crowd and traffic arrangements.
