Overview
- A severe storm on Friday swept the Rosario–Córdoba corridor, producing heavy rain, reduced visibility, and water on the road that emergency crews say worsened driving conditions.
- At km 63 of the Rosario–Santa Fe highway near Monje, a truck crossed lanes and struck a car head-on, killing two occupants, trapping a third who was rescued and taken to hospital, and leaving the truck driver largely uninjured and at the disposal of justice.
- On the Córdoba–Rosario highway near km 515 at Morrison, a Toyota Hilux hit a guardrail, split in two and killed three passengers whose identities were later confirmed, while the driver was flown to Hospital Regional de Bell Ville and remains in critical condition.
- Around km 5 of the Rosario–Córdoba route a dairy truck overturned and spilled cargo; dozens of people removed items from the scene while Corredores Viales, police and Gendarmería secured the area and implemented detours.
- Forensic teams and police have closed sections of the affected highways to conduct mechanical and judicial pericias that will assess the roles of weather, driver actions and vehicle faults, and authorities warn that looting of spilled cargo can hamper evidence collection and road clearance.
