Overview
- Metrolink services are suspended between Bury and Whitefield after a fallen tree damaged equipment supporting the overhead power lines.
- Replacement buses are running on the Bury–Whitefield section, with Metrolink tickets accepted on local routes including 90, 95, 97, 98, 135, 512, 513 and 524.
- The rail corridor between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport remains closed for assessment of major overhead line damage, with a stranded train at Heald Green to be removed before repairs proceed.
- Northern tickets are being accepted on Metrolink between Manchester Airport/East Didsbury and Manchester Piccadilly and on bus routes 43, 103 and 313, with advance and peak restrictions lifted during the disruption.
- A limited train service is operating between Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Manchester Airport, and passengers are advised to check with operators or National Rail Enquiries before traveling.
