Overview
- Argentina’s meteorological service kept an orange alert for the south of Córdoba, warning of locally severe storms with frequent lightning, hail, gusts up to 100 km/h and 70–100 mm of rain.
- Yellow alerts covered parts of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, San Luis, La Pampa, Río Negro, Chaco, Formosa, Salta and Santiago del Estero, with forecasts of heavy downpours, strong gusts and possible hail.
- A yellow alert for zonda winds was active in southern Mendoza, with sustained winds near 30–45 km/h and gusts up to 65 km/h that can cut visibility and rapidly raise temperatures.
- For the Buenos Aires metropolitan area, SMN forecast strong rain returning Thursday night into Friday with a marked temperature drop, and issued safety guidance for severe weather.
- In Galicia, AEMET-based local forecasts pointed to cloudy, very humid conditions with light to moderate rain and brisk westerly to southwesterly gusts, including peaks near 50–70 km/h in some towns.
