Storm Alerts, Heat Warnings and Flood Risks Spread Across Argentina, Spain and Mexico

A rapidly intensifying low-pressure system will blast eight Argentine provinces with storms, gusting winds before highs plunge to near 14 °C.

Overview

  • The SMN has placed eight Argentine provinces under yellow alerts for storms and strong winds and issued a short-term warning in Mar del Plata for heavy rain, hail and gusts up to 59 km/h.

  • Baja California faces extreme heat above 45 °C with westerly winds of 30–40 km/h and gusts up to 70 km/h, raising the risk of dust storms and heat-related health alerts.
  • CDMX and the State of Mexico are under strong-to-very-strong rain alerts with electrical storms, possible hail and gusts up to 50 km/h, prompting flood and visibility warnings.
