Stonework Falls From Grade II-Listed Former Church in Cleckheaton, Missing Pedestrians

  • West Yorkshire Police and fire crews secured the site and Bradford Road remained closed as debris was cleared.
  • The Monal, which operates the venue, called it a minor incident, reported no injuries, and said its team is assessing the damage.
  • Rubble and large stone blocks fell from about 20 feet, scattering across the pavement and roadway outside the building.
  • The Grade II-listed structure dates to the 1850s, was originally a United Reform Church, later housed the Aakash restaurant, and is being refurbished as a wedding venue.
