• The suspect initiated the chase by ramming police cruisers after officers attempted a traffic stop early Thursday morning.
• The pursuit spanned approximately 30 kilometres, with the truck speeding through residential areas and ignoring traffic signals despite multiple tires being disabled by spike belts.
• The chase ended in Surrey’s Bridgeview area when the truck drove off a public dock, narrowly avoiding civilians, and into the Fraser River.
• The driver exited the submerged vehicle and was arrested nearby; no injuries to officers or the public were reported, and police are seeking additional witnesses.
