Overview
- Troopers obtained a warrant and searched the Carley residence in Homer on Jan. 14 after tracing a Jan. 12 Facebook Marketplace post for a dirt bike reported stolen in 2024.
- Investigators say Clayton Carley was evasive during an initial interview and provided false information about the sale before the warrant was executed.
- Seized items included more than 40 rifles and shotguns, three handguns, five assault-style weapons, a loaded short-barreled shotgun, high-capacity magazines, two daggers, a baton, brass knuckles and over $5,000 in cash.
- Troopers also recovered approximately 18 pounds of cannabis flower, six pounds of concentrated cannabis, more than a dozen mature plants and about five ounces of psilocybin mushrooms.
- Clayton J. Carley, 26, and Jeffrey C. Carley, 60, were arrested on multiple counts tied to weapons and controlled substances, and the stolen dirt bike was later surrendered by a Buffalo-area buyer to State Police in Hastings.
