Stolen 40-Foot Inflatable Santa Located After Phoenix Tree Lot Heist

A Wittmann tip redirected the search, prompting the owners to prepare repairs.

Overview

  • The 40-by-20-foot display, missing since late Saturday, was reported in Wittmann and is expected to be returned for repairs.
  • Owner Kyle Kraemer said thieves cut the lot’s fence, deflated the Santa, and dragged it out, taking the blower, lights, and other equipment.
  • Neighbor cameras showed the inflatable present around 7 p.m. Saturday and gone by 6:45 a.m. Sunday, narrowing the timeframe of the theft.
  • Phoenix police detectives are investigating, and the owners are working to determine who handled the decoration before it was reported found.
  • The Santa has been a photo landmark at Kraemer’s Tree Lot for more than 35 years, and the owners hope to reinstall it by Friday night or Saturday morning depending on repairs.
