Stockport Bar Attacker Jailed for Nine Years After Stabbing Doorman

The judge ruled provocation provided only limited mitigation given the brief gap before the knife attack.

Overview

  • Luke Allman, 26, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.
  • He returned about 12 minutes after being ejected from Bask near Stockport station and stabbed a doorman with a flick knife.
  • The doorman suffered a severe abdominal wound with a protruding bowel that required emergency surgery.
  • Other door staff were injured, including a woman who was later admitted to a psychiatric hospital for two weeks.
  • Defence cited heavy drinking and some cocaine use, but Judge Maurice Greene limited mitigation to the brief provocation, and the venue has since changed management and been rebranded.
