Stockholm's city council has publicly supported Sweden's bid to host the 2030 Winter Olympics.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is preparing to select preferred candidates for the 2030 and 2034 Winter Games next week.
Salt Lake City is widely favored for the 2034 Games, while the options for 2030 are Sweden, France, and Switzerland.
The Swedish bid is conditional on the national government continuing to underwrite the project and plans to use existing venues across the country.
The IOC now requires bidders to control costs and avoid building new sports venues, a change from previous selection processes.
