Stihl and Kärcher Form ALLPRO Battery Alliance for Professional Users

The pact aims to cut battery complexity for landscapers, foresters and cleaning crews by letting one high‑performance pack run tools and machines across brands.

Overview

  • The two family-owned German firms announced the alliance on Thursday to make Stihl’s ALLPRO battery system the shared power source for Stihl motor tools and Kärcher professional cleaning devices.
  • Stihl will begin selling new ALLPRO batteries built with tabless-cell technology on August 1, 2026, promising higher peak power, longer run times, faster charging and up to about 3,000 charge cycles.
  • Kärcher will introduce the first compatible devices and batteries on January 1, 2027, and has set aside roughly €10 million to adapt its product lineup while continuing service for its legacy system.
  • The ALLPRO packs remain backward-compatible with Stihl’s existing AP batteries so current Stihl customers can use their batteries in future Kärcher devices, while Kärcher users will need to migrate to the new system.
  • The partnership targets professional operators who use multiple machines off-grid and positions ALLPRO to compete with established pro ecosystems such as Metabo’s CAS and Bosch’s AmpShare while inviting other makers to join.
