Steven Yeun Confirms Exit from Marvel's 'Thunderbolts'

Actor cites scheduling conflicts and 2023 strikes as reasons for departure, remains open to future MCU roles

Steven Yeun, known for his roles in 'The Walking Dead' and 'Minari', has confirmed his departure from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie 'Thunderbolts'.
Yeun was reportedly set to play the character Sentry in the film, but has cited scheduling conflicts and the aftereffects of the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes as reasons for his exit.
Despite leaving 'Thunderbolts', Yeun has expressed interest in participating in a future Marvel project and has some character ideas in mind.
The film, which was initially set to premiere in 2024, has been delayed to 2025 due to the strikes and has yet to begin filming.
It remains unclear whether Yeun's character will be recast or removed from the film.
